Description
This is creepiness at its best. They’re both horrifying (although I must say, Jiminy is more so, despite the fact Thumper possesses a shank - THOSE TEETH)! You kept the design on this pretty understated, perhaps to fix the attention where you want it… at the Disney characters gone bad. The contrast of the peaceful-looking background with the clearly violent subject is a bit of artistic irony. You might expect that background on, say, a peaceful portrait of a gentle, sweet looking maiden… but certainly not all all-out brawl between undead (formerly cute and cuddly) Disney characters.
The gray adds to the feeling of despair/hopelessness in this piece (for me, anyway) and is only really accentuated by red (anger, wrath). The way this is looking, there’s going to be a lot more red here in a minute. One thing that I would have liked to be a bit different is the abundance of gray in the lower half of the piece. I can’t tell if that’s part of the piece, but if it is, I think the area around the outline is a better way to frame it. Also, if you wanted to, there could have been a bit of red or orange rimming the sun. I feel like it might be interesting to see what that would do to the rest of the artwork. Overall, this is a stupendous job. You certainly achieved what I think you were going for here: an unsettling way to ruin one’s childhood. (I’m kidding! ...sorta.) Thank you for creating this monster!
